The blame for the deaths of the sisters in the book is on some kind of curse that runs upon their family but Annaleigh decides to find out the mystery behind the deaths. As she finds out and gets closer to the reason behind this mystery, she comes across tremendous difficulties which makes the book worth reading.

The books credibility and thrill can be easily judged by seeing that it was named as the New York Times Bestselling Novel after its release. The book is basically inspired by the stories of The Little Mermaid. Simi who was basically a mermaid like creature used to miss her human life and wanted to become normal. Simi one day saw a human drowning in the ocean and for the sake of humanity, she saved the person. She didn't know that saving the person from drowning would have severe consequences as it resulted in angering the gods and her only way of survival was to make amends. In the process, she discovered unimaginable things in the ocean like frightening monsters, deep oceans, strange places and much more.

If you are someone who loves fairytales and folks, then this book is absolutely cracking to read. The book is about a princess girl named Shiori who had a stepmother. Her stepmother was quite evil and had some sort of hatred for the children. Due to her evil nature, she banished Shiori and punished her brothers by turning all of them into swans. The princess being exiled now has a mission to find her brothers that are turned into swans and to break the curse that her vile mother had landed upon them. The ultimate goal as a princess was to save her homeland from the stepmother and to stop it from getting destroyed by a growing conspiracy in town.
