How to make a dugout one hitter?

A one hitter user cannot live without a decent dugout to live his smoking life fully. Dugout one hitter is used for carrying herbs and one hitters so that you can take it out of the pocket anywhere and have a delightful puff. You can get dugouts from stores online but you can make one at home too if you know about the materials and steps required to make one and show your DIY skills. In this blog, we will tell you how to make a dugout one hitter for yourself so that you can smoke properly and whenever you want to.


 

Materials required

To make a dugout one hitter, you will require some handy tools at your disposal which some are mandatory to have while others aren't. Below are the tools and materials required for making a dugout:

·         Safety equipment (gloves, googles, mask)

·         Drill and Drill Bit of 1 inch

·         Table or Handsaw

·         Chisel

·         Straight edge ruler

·         Files and Sandpaper

·         Finishing Nails

·         Hammer

·         Wood that has been used before for making smoking pipes while its size depends on what size of dugout you want. It is usually a 4-inch square block.

 


Steps to make a dugout

·         Firstly, you will need to cut off the wood in half using the hand or table saw. If you have a handsaw, then having a grip can be really handy to have a grip over the block. If you want to make another dugout, then you can use the other half of the wooden block.

·         The block can be left it as it is or you can improve your grip by creating curves on the edges of the dugout.

·         Eliminate about half inch from the longest side of the wood to give it a definitive top and bottom of dugout.

·         Now it's time to make space for one hitter in a piece of wood. Illuminate the holes on the narrow side of the wood. Keep in mind to make holes slightly bigger than one hitters so that you can put and take out the one hitters easily. The other part should move a bit wider for more space inside. Don't hole the wood fully and leave about 2 mm of wood in each hole. Also keep the walls of the two compartments thick since you will put nails in that area for the lid.

·         Measure and drill the hole in the wooden block and keep 1 inch of wood at the lower part of the wooden block.

·         To improve the shape and finishing of the chamber, you can use a chisel and a file to eliminate the excessive wood present.

·         Fix the lid on the wood by nailing it on the separating wall.

·         Make the dugout smoother by using sandpaper on the walls of the dugout.
